torch of liberty

Choose Liberty Or lose it

The preservation of the sacred fire of liberty… is finally staked on the experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people.

George Washington, 1789 letter to the Marquis de Lafayette

where

to start

learn the constitution

First, let’s familiarize ourselves with the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the actual intent of the Founding Documents of the Republic – educate ourselves and share with others.

the founding documents

  • Constitution for the United States of America
  • Declaration of Independence
  • Review the Founder’s Library

Knowledge is Key to Understanding American Liberty

If we don’t know the basic principles of Liberty and what is in the Founding Documents, then we cannot make a fully informed decision on the issues of the day.

If we don’t understand what the Founders understood, then we can become confused about how to apply the principles of Liberty in our daily lives. As Benjamin Franklin said,

“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”

Take a Deeper Dive

Consider taking or participating in a class on the Constitution. There are many options available, and we can help connect you with others in your state who may already have classes under way. Writer Louis L’Amour once said,

Knowledge is like money: to be of value it must circulate, and in circulating it can increase in quantity and, hopefully, in value.

your public officials

  • Who is your Mayor?
  • Who are your County Commissioners?
  • Who are State and Federal Legislators and Executives?

public officials are people just like us

They are people who live busy lives, with lots of responsibility, and, like most Americans, their education on the principles of Liberty may been neglected by the public education system. Once we have learned those principles for ourselves, it becomes our duty to help guide the people we have elected to serve us.

Public officials take an oath to support and defend the United States and their respective State constitutions. Whenever an issue arises which concerns us, we have the duty to contact them with those concerns.

If the decision being made violates the Constitution, either federal or state, then an oath-bound public official somewhere is violating their oath. With your knowledge of the Constitution, along with that of your neighbors, you can hold them accountable and then take the next steps.

Educate yourself and your neighbors on the true nature of the Power of the States under the Tenth Amendment.
