The Framers of the Constitution conceived of a popular sovereignty. Jefferson expresses it in the Declaration of Independence, “Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…” which is then codified by the Constitution.

Shared passion of the constitution party
The Framers established a standard of liberty that we have inherited, and it is the duty of their posterity, the citizens of the Republic – that’s us today – to preserve it.
The “Intent” of the Framers was to create a land of peace, prosperity, and liberty for everyone who shares that vision.
They created something that had never happened in the world before their time. They drew ideas from the works of thinkers, philosophers, and religious leaders of past eras, as well as those of their own time.
They molded these ideas into a structure that has stood the test of time and has become a global model still sought after in the 21st Century.
THE PROBLEM:
We have lost our way. Most Americans feel in their soul that something is not quite right. They hear politicians and other leaders talk about the Constitution but then act in different ways, ways which promote ideologies and policies which violate the foundational principles of America. They take great pleasure in accusing each other of doing wrong while they are committing the same wrongs.
We have stopped teaching the basic principles in our public schools. We have replaced those principles with ideas that the Framers would have found abhorrent, and against which they fought when the crafted the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
