The law of our Creator defines marriage as the union between one man and one woman. The marriage covenant is the foundation of the family, and the family is fundamental in the maintenance of a stable, healthy and prosperous social order. No government may legitimately authorize or define marriage or family relations contrary to what God has instituted.

The Founders understood that the Natural Family, as commonly understood among the people, is necessary to the General Welfare of a nation. 

THE PRINCIPLES

The Tenth Amendment:

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

The Constitution grants the federal government NO authority to define marriage or family relations.

We affirm the importance of Biblical scripture in establishing the Founders’ intent, as eloquently stated by Noah Webster:

“The moral principles and precepts contained in the Scriptures ought to form the basis of all our civil constitution and laws… All the miseries and evils which men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery, and war proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts in the Bible.”

THE PROBLEM

The Natural Family is the foundation of a strong economy, and a successful society. Congress continues to make laws which ignore natural biological laws and societal norms designed protect the Natural Family. Activist judges continue to uphold laws and make decisions which violate parental rights and the rights of free speech for those who do not believe that alternative lifestyles are the same as the Natural Family.

THE SOLUTION

HOMOSEXUALITY, TRANSGENDERISM, OTHER DEVIANT BEHAVIORS

• The People and Congress must reject the notion that homosexuals, transgenders or those who are sexually deviant are deserving of legal favor or special protection, affirming the rights of states and localities to proscribe offensive sexual behavior. 
• All efforts to impose a new sexual legal order through any courts or legislatures must be opposed.
• Lawmakers must stand against so-called “sexual orientation” and “hate crime” statutes that attempt to legitimize inappropriate sexual behavior or stifle public opposition to its expression. 
• Government funding of “partner” benefits for unmarried individuals must be opposed.
• Legal recognition of homosexual or civil unions, in any form, must be opposed.

BIOLOGICAL SEX IN SOCIETY

• One’s biological sex at birth cannot be changed, even with surgical and hormonal alterations.
• Individuals, organizations or governments should never be required to change official records to reflect a gender differing from that at their birth.
• No one or no entity has the right to force anyone to accept another person’s claim to be of a gender differing from their birth. 
• Any use of taxpayer funds to facilitate attempts at biological sex change, or penalizing parents for refusing to go along with a biological sex change by a minor child must be opposed.
• It is improper to allow biological males to compete in female sports, or to have access to bathrooms, locker rooms, or prison facilities that don’t conform to their biological sex, no matter what degree of biological sex transformation or hormonal therapy they have undergone.

PARENTAL RIGHTS

• Parents have the fundamental right and responsibility to nurture, educate, and discipline their children. 
• The assumption of any of these responsibilities by any governmental agency without the express delegation of the parents or legal due process must be opposed.
• We must affirm the value of the father and the mother in the home.
• Efforts to legalize adoption of children by homosexual singles or couples must be opposed.

Any judicial ruling or amending the U.S. Constitution or any state constitution re-defining marriage with any definition other than the Biblical standard must be opposed.

All taxation and economic formulas that discourage marriage, incentivize cohabitation and childbearing outside of marriage or authorize or provide government funding for policies and programs that further erode the jurisdiction of the family or parental rights must be ended.

THE CONSTITUTION PARTY COMMITTMENT

The Constitution Party is committed to restoring the Natural Family to its rightful place in society by working to put all of the above solutions into action, both as members of the voting public and as elected office holders.
